DISCONNECTION VALET

Legal Notice & Terms of Service

Effective Date: July 12, 2026

Welcome to Disconnection Valet. By voluntarily checking your mobile device, smartwatch, tablet, or other electronic device with Disconnection Valet, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the following terms and conditions.

1. Voluntary Participation

Participation in the Disconnection Valet service is voluntary unless otherwise required by the event organizer. By checking your device, you consent to these Terms of Service.

2. Secure Device Storage

Disconnection Valet provides temporary storage of electronic devices during an event. Devices are secured in individually assigned pouches, lockers, or storage containers and are handled only by authorized personnel.

3. Device Ownership

By checking a device with Disconnection Valet, you represent that you are the lawful owner of the device or have the legal authority to surrender it for temporary safekeeping.

4. Device Retrieval

Devices will be returned only upon presentation of the issued claim ticket or other reasonable proof of ownership as determined by Disconnection Valet.

If a claim ticket is lost, additional identification or verification may be required before a device is released.

5. Privacy

Disconnection Valet does not access, unlock, search, monitor, or use the contents of any device in its custody.

Guests are encouraged to secure their devices with a passcode, fingerprint, or facial recognition before check-in.

6. Guest Responsibilities

Guests are responsible for:

Removing any items they wish to keep with them before check-in.

Ensuring their device is powered off or silenced if desired.

Informing staff of any pre-existing damage to the device.

Keeping their claim ticket secure.

7. Limitation of Liability

Disconnection Valet exercises reasonable care in handling all devices entrusted to its custody.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Disconnection Valet, its owners, employees, contractors, and event partners shall not be liable for:

Loss of data

Software malfunctions

Battery depletion

Cosmetic wear not caused by negligence

Pre-existing damage

Manufacturer defects

Damage resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including fire, severe weather, theft, acts of God, civil unrest, or actions of third parties

Except where prohibited by law or caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct, any liability of Disconnection Valet shall not exceed the fair market value of the device at the time it was checked in.

8. Lost Claim Tickets

A lost claim ticket does not automatically entitle any individual to possession of a device.

Disconnection Valet reserves the right to require government-issued identification, proof of ownership, security questions, or other reasonable verification before releasing any property.

9. Unclaimed Devices

Devices not retrieved before the conclusion of the event will be retained for a reasonable period in accordance with our Lost Property Policy.

After the retention period, unclaimed devices may be transferred to the event organizer or handled in accordance with applicable state law governing lost property.

10. Prohibited Items

Disconnection Valet reserves the right to refuse custody of:

Damaged or leaking electronic devices

Devices that present a safety hazard

Illegal items

Any property not reasonably suitable for temporary event storage

11. Force Majeure

Disconnection Valet shall not be responsible for delays, interruptions, or losses resulting from events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, governmental actions, labor disputes, utility failures, or other unforeseen events.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

14. Acceptance

By checking a device with Disconnection Valet, you acknowledge that you have voluntarily agreed to these Terms of Service and Legal Notice.
